On April 19, 1941, four alcoholics gathered in Room 522 of the New Washington Hotel which was recognized as the first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Washington State.

Celebrate the statewide 85th anniversary this Spring on April 18th, 2026. (Location TBD)

In anticipation of this, there will be a few fundraising activities.

The first one is to raise money by suggesting $1.00/year of sobriety. This contribution will place your name, home group, sobriety date, District and Area into a leatherbound registry that will live in Archives (72 and 92 respectively).

Another avenue being looked at to raise funds is by the creation of an “Orange Can” that can be taken to events, home groups, District meetings, etc. Monies collected can be taken to your respective Intergroup or Central Office for deposit.
